I loved this book. Its such a sweet quick read. The characters was lacking in any department. The story was filled with laughter, love, and joy. Of course there were some interesting parts that made the story dramatic which I enjoyed. Makes you want to believe in love at first sight.  Hope you enjoy it, too.

Good Morning, Love A Novel by Ashley M. Coleman

Carlisa “Carli” Henton is a musician and songwriter hoping to follow in her father’s musical footsteps. But, biding her time until she makes it big in the music industry, she works as a junior account manager at a big-name media company to cover her New York City rent. Carli meticulously balances her work with her musical endeavors as a songwriter—until a chance meeting with rising star Tau Anderson sends her calculated world into a frenzy. Their worlds collide and quickly blur the strict lines Carli has drawn between her business and her personal life, throwing Carli’s reputation—and her burgeoning songwriting career—into question.

This book was a miss for me. Some parts I enjoyed and some parts were kind of boring and slow. It took me while to get into the story. Carli felt like she was all over the place, but everyone felt like that at times. Tau is that guy who won’t take no for an answer. Which is not a good character trait in someone. It shows that he doesn’t understand boundaries. After reading this, I struggle to consider this book a romance. It lacked that defining moment for me.

Well, I hope you enjoy it.

Energized and refreshed, Alex returns home—only to discover her holiday hottie is also the renowned architect tapped for the B&B’s major renovation project. Wesley Prescott knows how easy it is to put success above everything else. But he can’t resist teasing out the daring, adventurous—and lovable—woman he knows she truly is.  Alexandria and Wes story is charming, filled with a little drama, and lots of fun. I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Wes was what Alexandria needed to loosen her up. Their chemistry was undeniable.  A sweet romance that was beautifully written and I enjoyed reading.

Wash Day Diaries by Jamila Rowser & Robyn Smith

From writer Jamila Rowser and artist Robyn Smith comes a captivating graphic novel love letter to the beauty and endurance of Black women, their friendships, and their hair.

Wash Day Diaries tells the story of four best friends—Kim, Tanisha, Davene, and Cookie—through five connected short story comics that follow these young women through the ups and downs of their daily lives in the Bronx.

The book takes its title from the wash day experience shared by Black women everywhere of setting aside all plans and responsibilities for a full day of washing, conditioning, and nourishing their hair. Each short story uses hair routines as a window into these four characters' everyday lives and how they care for each other.

Jamila Rowser and Robyn Smith originally kickstarted their critically acclaimed, award-winning slice of life mini comic, Wash Day, inspired by Rowser's own wash day ritual and their shared desire to see more comics featuring the daily lived experiences of young Black women. Wash Day Diaries includes an updated, full color version of this original comic—which follows Kim, a 26-year-old woman living in the Bronx—as the book's first chapter and expands into a graphic novel with short stories about these vibrant and relatable new characters.

In expanding the story of Kim and her friends, the authors pay tribute to Black sisterhood through portraits of shared, yet deeply personal experiences of Black hair care. From self-care to spilling the tea at an hours-long salon appointment to healing family rifts, the stories are brought to life through beautifully drawn characters and different color palettes reflecting the mood in each story.

At times touching, quiet, triumphant, and laugh out loud funny, the stories of Wash Day Diaries pay a loving tribute to Black joy and the resilience of Black women.

As a black reader and blogger, its not often you read something that resonates with who are. I saw myself  and my amazing friends in everyone of these characters. This graphic novel just hits on so many levels, from funny to touching to sad to happy. It gives a short glimpse into a black girl's life and friendship. Showing you our magic without violating the magician's code. I'm honestly excited to see where the author's does with this, will we get a more indepth view into the lives of each character or another book with a filled with more glimpses? Let s not forget the amazing artistry of each frame. So beautiful drawn and painted. I love it!

I hope you do too!

Thank you to the publisher/author and netgalley for the early read

Bingo Love by Tee Franklin

Bingo Love is a story of a same-sex romance that spans over 60 years. A chance meeting at church bingo in 1963 brings Hazel Johnson and Mari McCray together. Through their formative years, these two women develop feelings for each other and finally profess their love for one another.

Forced apart by their families and society, Hazel and Mari both married young men and had families. Decades later, now in their mid 60’s, Hazel and Mari are reunited again at a bingo hall. Realizing their love for each other is still alive, what these grandmothers do next takes absolute strength and courage.

I loved this. I thought this was such a cute read. Especially for one of the first graphic novels that I read. The story was realist without being overdone. I just love a good "not right now" romance. Something so heartfelt about people who fall in love young only to have other things and society tear them apart just to find each other decades later once those obligations are fulfilled and societal changes have occured. I was smiling once they found each other again. I love how they just fell back into it. The ending was just as beautiful.

Hope you enjoy it too!

Psycho Fae: Enemies to Lovers Romance (Cruel Shifterverse Book 2) Kindle Edition by Jasmine Mas

Are you ready to enter into a new realm?

Fight for survival in the deadly gladiator Fae Games.

I shifted into a saber-toothed tiger...but that was just the beginning.
Jax, Cobra, and Ascher are now my teammates.
Once again, we're fighting for our lives. And our futures.
But nothing is as it seems, and for every secret we uncover, another unfolds.

Under the spiteful watch of Xerxes and the evil Fae Queen, it's not clear we're going to survive.
Can we work together? Or will we implode?

One thing is for sure, I'm about to uncover my destiny.

Power is in my veins.

Where to begin?! Wow! I love Cobra. Like really adore him, but also I love Jax. And Xerxes's brand of violence is yummy. Ha! I am still upset by Ascher even though his heart was in the right place. There are so many things about this book that just makes it so good. Jasmine Mas is definitely on my new favorite author list. The fact that this book has matched and somewhat surpassed the first with how good it is makes her someone you definitely need to read and watch out for. She just knows how to bring a story to life.

I am so excited for book three.

Can not wait!

Ethan, Who Loved Carter by Ryan Loveless

By twenty-four, Carter Stevenson has stuttered and ticced his way to debilitating shyness. Although his friends accuse him of letting his Tourette's dictate his life, Carter moves from Los Angeles to a quiet California town. He'll keep his head down and avoid people. He doesn't anticipate his new neighbor, Ethan Hart, crashing into his solitude and forcing him to get out and live
From the beginning, Ethan makes his love for Carter clear. But he fears Carter won't see past Ethan's damaged brain, even though it makes Ethan more attuned to his emotions than most people. For Carter, there's a bigger issue: he's been burned by so-called "perfect" matches, and he won't risk his heart again.
One way or another, Ethan's determined to show Carter they belong together. Then Ethan receives tragic news. Suddenly he must turn to Carter for strength and support. Will Carter come through when Ethan needs him most?

Just got finished reading this little gem. Its a good read, different but interesting and heartfelt. Great characters and they are some really cute and funny moments. Ethan was a sweetheart and Carter was really good guy.

Hope you enjoy it too.

Please Remember Me by Jacob Z. Flores

Successful lawyer Santi Herrera couldn’t be happier with the direction his life is taking. Not only is he on track to becoming a partner in his law firm, but he’s planning his wedding to Hank Burton, a south Texas contractor who has made a name for himself despite his humble beginnings. The introverted, lone wolf Santi and the friendly, outgoing Hank complement each other perfectly. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, they were hooked, and as far as Santi and Hank are concerned, a happily ever after is their destiny.
But fate deals them a devastating new hand.
A construction accident leaves Hank with severe head trauma and brings him precariously close to death. When he finally awakens, Hank doesn’t remember Santi or the love they shared for the past three years. Santi faces the greatest challenge of his life. Can he respark a flame his lover can’t recall? And can he stop the diverging paths that fickle fate charts between them?

My favorite quote:
“You can’t ever take your love for granted. It’s like a flower that needs sun, water, and food to survive. Without them, it cannot bloom. And besides, it’s never too late to fall in love all over again, even for us old folks.”
I had such amazing time ready this story. It was such a good read,  the story was real and touching I cried a bit during some parts and laugh in others. It was so amazingly good that I was just rooting for them since the very beginning. And even though the story was a bit predictable the flow of love and emotions throughout makes up for that and plus I do love a good HEA (Happily Ever After)

I can't say it enough such a good read.
Hope you enjoy it too.

Falling (Fall or Break #1) by Barbara Elsborg

Falling is easy.
Landing without breaking your heart?
Impossible.
Harper is no longer behind bars, but it doesn’t feel like it. Ten years serving time for a crime he didn’t commit have left him shut down, numb, and a frozen wreck over the simplest of choices.
He’s acutely aware of the dark-haired young man checking him out in the supermarket, but he’s too deep in panic mode to even meet the guy’s gaze. Afraid the slightest move will trigger a fall that will never stop.
Fresh off a long-term relationship with a controlling man, Malachi is stuck living with relatives who think he’s a waste of oxygen. The tall guy in the long, gray coat is the first bright spot he’s glimpsed in a long time…though the man’s unblinking stare at a bottle of shower gel is a touch alarming.
Hard experience tells both of them to turn away before lust turns to hopeless attraction, and inevitably to disaster. But once their sparks connect, the arc of electricity is too strong to deny. Even if the cost is too much to bear.
Author's Warning: Contains an ex-con with disaster written all over him, a boy toy who’s trouble with a capital T, a damp old British house, compulsive meddling, and enough hot sex to cure the severe case of nervous babbling.
“He couldn’t switch off ten years of anxiety just because he was free. Free. Yeah, right.”
*****
“His life had been wrecked by lies and he’d be falling forever because there was no one to catch him.”
*****
“Maybe that was how he should start over, get rid of everything and begin again, rip out his memories and begin again, rip out his heart and begin again.”

Being a fan of Barbara Elsborg's work, this book grabbed my attention with the blurb. I knew I was in for a ride and this did not disappoint! I will say this made me think about a few serious things which doesn't happen very often when it comes to romance. You're always thinking about the good stuff but this book was realistic and hard hitting.  Its filled with darkness and intrigue. Harper was such a strong character who was broken by circumstances and lies. Didn't know where or how exactly to start to pick up the pieces. And Malachi was just perfect. Even with his circumstances not being great, you know him living with his sister's family, jobless, and having his emotional baggage, he was the exact type of character relief that was needed. Someone who even though they were going through tough times seems still to be optimistic. Plus he was funny and charming. Which I loved.

This book is a great read and I would suggest you put this on your "to be read" shelf.
Tell me what you thought of it.

Spouse Swap by A.N. Boyden

Description:

Charlotte (Charlie) Davis is a successful divorce attorney who agrees to participate in a social experiment where she swaps lives with another wife and mother, leaving behind her emotionally unavailable husband and four-year-old daughter. Her "new" spouse, Taylor Scott, is an electrician by trade who agrees to participate in the spouse swap program for the $10,000.00 to be paid out at the completion of the program. Charlie and Taylor have an instant connection when they first lay eyes on each other. Throughout the program, they realize their marriages have been missing the love and affection they've been craving. Taylor finds out a devastating secret about his wife that forces him to face reality and make moves for the safety and wellbeing of his family.

There was one itsy bitsy detail in the spouse swap contract that both Charlie and Taylor missed...the couple has to sleep in the same bed...

Well another hit by A.N. Boyden, she had the past a couple weeks for me on lock. This book was no exception to the goodness that are her stories. I really enjoyed the concept of this book. And I loved the romantic build of these characters especially since they were sexually and emotionally connected. Also, there were some real interesting development throughout that just keep you invested.

Check out the excerpt at bottom.

Hope you enjoy!

"How could you do this to me, Tanya? Why didn't you warn me?" I demanded, flailing my arms in the air.

"Warn you about what?"

I scoffed in disbelief. "You failed to mention how fine this man is! Girl, do you see him?! I mean, come on! Imagine taking the sexiest lumberjack you can find and mixing him with the most rugged cowboy on this planet and BAM, there he is!"

Tanya chuckled, placing her hands on her hips. "So, what? Now you're not going to follow through because he's hot? Must I remind you that your husband is a looker, too?"

I paced across the lawn in my brown leather Saint Laurent ankle boots. "Yeah, my husband is handsome, but this man is fucking indescribable. I mean, let's be honest. I need a new pair of panties right now!"

"Are they moist?" Tanya teased.

"Bitch, I'm leaking."

The sound of someone loudly clearing their throat caught our attention. I froze, mortified by what he may have heard.

"H-How much of that did you hear by chance?" I stuttered.

"Not much," he drawled with his sexy Texas twang. "I came in at the lumberjack cowboy hybrid part," he confessed with a smug smirk on his delicious lips.

One of a Kind by A.N. Boyden

Description:

Tatyana Lee has been offered the arduous task of becoming Bluebonnet's new principal by her long-term mentor and current school board superintendent. The town's testing scores are dismal. In fact, Bluebonnet is ranked the worst in the state of Texas. Tatyana's immediate response was to turn down the position; however, her success could place her as the front runner to be the youngest school superintendent in Texas history.

Tatyana accepts the challenge and has one year to drastically improve the school's testing scores and overall academic marks to avoid shutting down the public school. Tatyana is not thrilled to leave the comforts of the big city for the little Podunk town with a population of less than one thousand and prays the rumors she has heard are not true.

Keith Bailey is the well-loved and admired sheriff of Bluebonnet. His family established the town of Bluebonnet over one hundred years ago and has always been the governing law of the dilapidated city. The citizens of Bluebonnet, including Keith's family, turn their backs on him as soon as Tatyana Lee brazenly rolls into town with her No Trespassing signs and her double pistols on her hips.

Keith is instantly attracted to the dark-skinned woman with the sultry tongue and ego the size of Texas. He is befuddled by the woman's insistence in staying in a town where she truly did not belong and finds himself spending more time protecting Tatyana from the less-than-welcoming town folk and cleaning up after their vandalism.

How will Tatyana achieve her goals and deal with being the only Black resident in a predominantly racist town? Join Tatyana and Sheriff Bailey as the pair engage in the spiciest love affair that Bluebonnet has ever witnessed.

I tend to not read books like this but this author's work has had me in a chokehold these past couple of days that I knew I needed to give it try. There are some very derogatory language and slurs as well as some very triggering action in this book. With that being said the author created a world that was very realistic and entertaining. I really enjoyed Tatyana and Sheriff Bailey's relationship. Tatyana was true to herself and stood her ground. While Sheriff Bailey was just over protective (understandable) and supportive. It was really a good read.

Mail Order Groom: A BWWM by A. N. Boyden

Nina O'Neil is a successful physical therapist looking to settle down, but without all the hoopla and disappointment that dating in the modern age brings. Despite the stern warnings she received from her family and friends, Nina signs up for a mail-order groom service in hopes of finding true love.

It didn't take much for Nina to fall for Zane Doran, an accomplished hedge fund manager. For her? It was love at first sight, and the two spent the next several months exchanging messages. She falls in love with her online lover and is ready to take the next step.

Instead of being met by the well-kept, polite gentleman that Nina has been bearing her soul to, Nina is surprised to find a rough-neck tattooed beast of a man on her doorstep. What makes matters worse...he was just released from prison.

Join the hilarious, side-splitting adventures of Nina and Zane as they attempt to navigate a relationship. Will the pair ever find common ground and make it down the aisle?

This was such a surprisingly good read. It had me hook from the beginning and kept me until the very end. This author's humor is similar to Olivia Gaines. I was not expecting all the hilarious moments and the depth of feeling's that were shared between Zane, Nina and the family. The end was a bit abrupt but I am excited to know there's a book two in the works. This was great intro to the author.

Vengeance: Snow and the Vengeful Reapers (Ruthless MC #4) by Theodora Taylor

Vengeance isn’t just a team of enforcers, they’re a destination where all morals and good sense get checked at the door.

Every server at the roadhouse I work at knows that Vengeance is a package deal. The three enforcers for the Ruthless Reapers don’t just share a job, they share you for one night if you dare to go to one of the rooms upstairs with them.

Whenever they come into the roadhouse, they stare at me. Three wolves just biding their time until I agree to be their next meal.

But you know what? Hard pass. I’m on the last six months of my five-year plan to become a certified doctor. And giving my body to three outlaw bikers is not one of the items on my sensible checklist. Besides, I’ve learned the hard way you can’t trust anyone but yourself.

So, nope. No way. Uh-unh. It doesn’t matter if they make my stomach flutter and my seriously neglected nether regions stir with some very bad thoughts. I’m not budging from my five-year plan.

But then, my aunt’s boyfriend attacks me. One moment I’m calling Vengeance as a last resort. And the next I’m waking up in their bed.

Vengeance has me now. And Reapers don’t date. They POSSESS.

New plan. Figure out how to escape from these three men before they convince me to give them everything they want. My body, my mind, my heart—maybe even, my soul.

Feels rushed. There's no true flow. The story didn't develop the way it was meant to. What I thought I was getting I didn't really get it. I felt like I was getting rushed to read this so I could understand why these characters exist in the next book. Just wished it was real story. Not bad could have been much better, definitely not her best.

Psycho Shifters: An enemies-to-lovers romance (Cruel Shifterverse Book 1) by Jasmine Mas

Description:

Fight like a girl...or a shifter of lore.

After growing up with nothing, I've finally found my path to freedom: I'm a shifter, an elite soldier who transforms into a monster.

All I have to do is survive.

I didn't count on my three 6'5 roommates. Covered in tattoos, jeweled, and horned, these are like no men I've ever dealt with before.

They don't think I belong.

They don't think I'm strong enough for war.

They don't think I can fight.

I'm about to prove them wrong.

The only problem, can I survive them discovering the secrets of my past? In the battle for life and death, everyone is so much more than they seem.

Jax, Ascher, and Cobra are going to be devastated when they discover my truth...just wait until they see my shifted form.

The story was amazing. I felt for the heroine and her sister. The heroes were a bit blind and full of it but they came through in the end. This story has so many different levels. And you know it’s a great book, when the first thing you do is check when the next book is coming. I can't wait to for book two.

I hope you enjoy it too.

Kiss Me, Cowboy by Diana Palmer

Description:

The Rancher’s Wedding
When a tough Colorado rancher who’s in the red meets up with a screenwriter-turned-waitress dogged by scandal, they put their talents—and their hearts—together. But will front page news put a damper on the sparks flying between them?

Colorado Cowboy
Fleeing her mother’s killer, Esther Marist ends up at a rugged stranger’s cabin. A wildlife rehabilitator with a menagerie that includes an elderly wolf, Matthews isn’t the type to turn any creature away. As Esther heals, she realizes how much danger she’s brought to his door—and how far he’ll go to protect her.

This book is a two in one deal. Two stories, one book, but I am disappointed by the fact that the second story in this book was recycled from her previous book which was release last year with two other authors. I guess she wanted to just have her name on the book instead of the collection of novellas she did with the others. I liked the wolf featured in both. I wasnt a fan of JL in the first one. I thought he was too constrained and unforgiving. This would be a great afternoon read and more of a quick intro to the author.

Thank you to the publisher/author and netgalley for the early read

Deceived by the Gargoyles (Monstrous Matches #2) by Lillian Lark

Description:
A curvy librarian looking to start a family, a clan of gargoyles, and the deception that starts it all.

My family has always found me lacking. From the way I dress, how I look, to the type of magic I have. My family name is full of pomp and prestige, and I want nothing to do with it.
I’m a witch that knows how to set a goal and I have one in mind.

I want a real family.

Dating is a travesty. All the suitors I meet are looking for a connection to the family name I left behind. I need help.
Enter the matchmaker. It seems too good to be true that I can give her the list of traits I want in a partner and have my deepest desire answered, but I’m out of options.

Love comes along in the most unexpected ways.

From the very first moment I meet Elliot Bramblewick, I have hope. But he’s tricky.
I’m not expecting him to be hiding two other mates. Mates who are as alarmed and intrigued by my presence as I am by theirs.
He thinks I’m a perfect fit for them, but can I open my heart and discard my list long enough to see if this is the family I’m looking for?

None of my lists and plans prepared me for being courted by three gargoyles.

This was a entertaining read. I was expecting much so it was also surprising. Apparently I'm in reverse harem mood this month because a lot books this month have existed in the same type of universe. I will say compared to the first book in this series,  this veered off I would not say in a bad way, but definitely surprising. Its filled with funny and flirty dialogue. There's action and suspense. A lot of "will they, won't they" moments. Also has a insecure heroine who grew up privileged but on the plus side of life, so her fears of whether she would be wanted for herself even in the face of an already active attraction helps build the romantic side of the story. I really liked her friend/ secondary female character in the story and can't wait to see if she will get her own little romance.

Hope you enjoy it.

Queenie & the Krakens: The Krakens Motorcycle Club: A Standalone Reverse Harem Romance byAleera Anaya Ceres

Description:

Naomi Queen swore to herself she’d never get involved with criminals. She didn’t want any part of the world that raised her because she knew the trouble the malicious underground could bring. But all that changes when she witnesses a murder between a gang of mermen shifters.

Swept into the maelstrom of the paranormal criminal underbelly wasn’t exactly high on her to-do list. Neither was being hunted by the murderous gang that called themselves the Rogue Waves.

With her life in danger, Naomi has no other choice but to accept protection from the deadly MC’s rivals. But hiding at the Kraken Motorcycle Club’s compound was the last thing she wanted. These mermen are dangerous, violent, and sexy. Everything she’s tried to avoid. They’ll chew her up and spit her out like the vicious sharks that they are… or they’ll try to.

Naomi has a few tricks of her own up her sleeve, and if the Krakens thought she’d be a meek little witness, they have another thing coming. She can be as ruthless as the monster whose name they carry, and by the time she wreaks havoc upon their lives—and their hearts—they won’t even know what hit them.

Such a good read. Queenie is exactly the type heroine I love in these type of books. Witty and strong-willed, this book is filled with action from the get go. I will say it did seem a teensy tiny bit rushed other than that it's a really good book.

hope you enjoy it too.

This is a very quick and easy read. If you want something cute and cheesy, then this book is for you. There's really not much to say, its a quick instant love, enemies to lovers, and a little mystery to keep  you a bit busy. It has its funny moments and give you something to do when you have free a couple of hours.

Even if the legendary vampire king might be the one person who could protect her from the enemies always one step behind.

A Man Whose Abandonment Issues Span Thousands of Years...
Lucien Silvano has been king of the vampires for the last ten thousand years, he's fought in wars that have been reduced to legend, rescued damsels in distress, seduced said damsels, and moved on. Immortal life has become a never-ending battle against boredom. Nothing has truly stirred his interest in years, except her. She's the exception to every rule, his Queen, his mate, the one-person Fate declared to be his. The problem? She wants nothing to do with him.

What could possibly go wrong?
Phoebe refuses to share her past with Lucien, pushing him away at every opportunity, yet unable to resist the chemistry that explodes whenever they are together. Forced back to his castle in Romania to live as his Queen, she starts to forget the rules that have kept her safe, until the secrets Lucien has been hiding remind her why she created the rules in the first place.

An ARC from netgalley/publisher for an honest review,

The story grabs you from the beginning. You literally are grabbed through the main male character, Lucien’s boredom of life after living for so long. He is literally planning to go to war just to alleviate his boredom when he meets the main female character, Phoebe. Then chaos begins. What I love about the story is how funny and colorful phoebe is compared to Lucien. But he’s your typical Alpha male. My issues with the story was the lack of communication. There were three issues hanging over their heads. Two could have been handle if they just talked like honestly but your cards on the table talk. The third need to continue to build the story up more but the first two could help them understand each other more throughout the story especially after the first brush with death. Just my opinion. Other than that, it was a good story. I’m interested in seeing where the author goes with book two. Will it remain with these characters? Or from another’s the point of view?

Hope you enjoy it.

And as always Happy Reading!!

Happy New Year!

It's a new year and like everyone I want to challenge myself. I have been thinking about doing this challenge for years and never had the guts to do it because it's a little crazy. But at last, when something is stuck in your head and heart to do, you just got to do it. My challenge for myself this year is to read a book a day. That means by the end of this year I would have read 365 books and that is a lot of books.  But it is such a fun thing to do. Am I being optimistic? Yes. Do I believe I could do it? Yes. If I do end up not making the goal, would it hurt or make me sad? No, I might be frustrated but upset? no. I am just excited to do it. I'm not going to review every book I read but some will definitely be up here.

Are you doing a challenge this year? If so, what is it? Please leave your answers in the comment below.
Oh! I am also taking book recommendations; you can leave that in the comments also.

And as always Happy Reading!!!
