Fast and the Furriest (Tiger Tails #1) by Celia Kyle

Ladies, like a tiger’s stripes? Tug his tail and keep him forever!
The wolves came first. Followed by the bears. Finally, lions decided to play in the spotlight, but the tigers have held off. Let everyone else get stared at. Ares was happy on his mountain with his pride while humans thought they knew all about the different shifter species.
Their secret was safe…until her. One reporter took tigers from the shadows and thrust them into the limelight by releasing a picture of a tiger shifting. Specifically — him. (What could he say? A little moonlight, a little fur…)
Now he has a town of stripe-hunting women looking for a tiger’s tail to pull and… a full moon on the horizon.
Can he keep his tigers from being mated against their will? Better yet, can he forgive the one woman responsible for outing his species? Ares isn’t sure, but he’s willing to give it a shot.

A quick afternoon read that doesn't disappoint. I like the story the author has given us. I like that the main characters had a previous meet and greet which ended abruptly by outside forces which in tail (haha) adds an honest conflict. The characters were likeable and somewhat funny. Ronnie is a riot.

Hope you enjoy it,too.

Lick (Stage Dive #1) by Kylie Scott

                                              Two Covers One Story

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.
Evelyn Thomas's plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One thing is certain, being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

First and foremost as rock fan and country music fan this was amazing to read. I don't usually read New adult books but the concept is one of my favorites to read. Check Tall Tales and Wedding Veils By Jane Graves. Heroine wakes up to a hangover and a ring on her finger. Hero likes heroine because she real and honest. Then the fun begins. No matter what age the main characters are it's always good.

I LOVED DAVID FERRIS (And to be honest I'm more partial toward drummers then guitarist) but since i LOVE tattoos on men. They're so effing hot!!! But I also liked Mal, he was funny.

This was a good read I'm glad I got it.

But the trick is to find a man who not only appeals to Nicholaus's domination but isn't above allowing Stephanie to have her fun too.
When Zebadiah catches Stephanie's eye, she and Nicholaus approach the wounded sub, wondering if he's truly ready take what they have to offer him, or is Ethan right about Zebahiah not being ready? Only time will tell.

Really happy I read this. My first book by this author and I could definitely see myself becoming obsess with her writing/books. There's something wonderful about seeing or reading someone rise above their situation. Somehow gratifying to see or read about someone facing their fears and coming up on top. Even though circumstance made them a victim. And the HEA in this book was a good twist for me. So God damn sweet and full of such romance that how I would want mine to be.

Amazing read and book.
Enjoyed it immensely.

My Woman Book Wednesday is.......... Born (The Legacy Series) by Marianne Maguire

After the recent death of her parents that has left her feeling lost and alone, September Rae volunteers for something new and exciting, and unknowingly triggers a magical curse to lift. A timid human no more, September is born into a Legacy she didn’t know existed and must now navigate her way through a secret otherworld morphing from one supernatural race into another as she builds her confidence and learns how to control her powers.
September Rae finds out soon that being the Queen of all Supernatural races in an Underground Otherworld brings her into a world of unknown pleasures and unexpected consequences. The stakes are high for this new Queen, all the while being tested by everyone in the Underground Otherworld. Thankfully she is not alone and never will be again, along with her new court of sexy supernatural men, the gentlemen, the playboy and the rock-star, they must all figure out how to love and work together as their Queen is born.

There's a lot going on and a lot of sex so if you can't handle it then this book is definitely not for you. I loved September, she's a strong female character and with everything that was going on she needed to be. It's funny and sexy. The men are true alpha males and hot but know their place. Each one important for each paranormal group which in this case is only four. I'm not gonna go into it because the book will explain it. It funny, sexy, a lot drama, there's blood shed, and of course wondering what might happen next.

In the end I thought I would of gotten a little bored after a while but there was always some element of suspense and surprise waiting to happen. It's been awhile since a paranormal book came alive for me. I congratulate Ms. Marianne Maguire on a great debut novel. Anticipating the next one.

Rise of an Alpha Female #Wattys2016 By wiselight

Disclaimer: This and any other works that I review belongs to the Author(s). Only using Photo and description for review purposes. Readers discretion advised.

Her father has been grooming her to at least lead by his side since she was a little girl, and in time she has come to believe it is her right to rule.
But most do not agree.
She is only a woman.
Meant for other things.
She is the only heir of the Alpha, but there has never been an Alpha Female in the pack's history. A trial by combat for the Alpha position is one option, but only males are allowed to participate.
What could she possibly hope to do to break the old, traditional way of how females are seen to be little more than wives and second line supporters of the males in the pack? Some say that if she finds a mate that becomes Alpha, making her a Luna would be an acceptable compromise, but for whom? And even then, what kind of male wolf would accept such a dominant female partner? Probably... none.

This is an okay story.
From what I've read so far, the story has a lot of potential and is a very interesting concept. I'm kind excited  to see where the writer might go with it,

The story is ongoing.

Howl My Name (Grayslake #5) by Celia Kyle

Werewolf Reid Bennett has one goal: investigate the Brookfield clan’s Itan. Reports are coming in that the male is abusing his werebears and--even if he’s a werewolf--Reid will put a stop to it. Unfortunately, the resolution ends up being permanent and now Reid’s the clan’s leader.
The only positive about his new situation: curvy werebear Evelyn Archer. She makes his wolf howl and he aches to explore every inch of her lush frame. He’s the clan’s leader and he knows exactly where he’d like to lead Evelyn—his bedroom.
Evelyn doesn’t know what to do with Reid. Sure, he’s the sexy wolf her werebear wants to nibble and claim, but she has bigger issues to deal with. Such as the fallout of her father’s death… at Reid’s claws. Okay, maybe she can take a break for one little lick...
They both have plans for the Brookfield clan… and each other. Except there’s a small problem—someone wants them dead. Nothing new for Reid, but a threat against Evelyn is unacceptable. When it comes to Evelyn, he’ll break all the rules to keep her safe, including dusting off his homicidal tendencies again.

This book was so good. It grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't let you go til the end. The main male character, Reid, was just so sexy and realistic, it had me wishing for my own possessive alpha-ish male. And I liked Archer also, hope it's his next that's coming out. I wish it was a little longer cause I'm a bit sad it had to end. Let me stop gushing and tell you about this book.

Every Night I'm Yours (The Spinster Club #1) by Christie Kelley

A woman who wants to know what she's been missing... A man perfectly suited to train her: Christie Kelley weaves a scintillating novel of one rapturous night of ecstasy...
A Woman Yearning For A Taste Of The Forbidden...
At twenty-six, aspiring novelist Avis Copley intends to wear spinsterhood as a badge of honor. But when she discovers a volume of erotica that ignites a searing fire within her, Avis realizes just how much she doesn't know about the actual pleasures of the flesh. Determined to learn more, she devises a daring plan...
A Man Ready To Teach Her Much, Much More...
Avis chooses Emory Billingsworth, a fellow novelist - not to mention a beautiful specimen of manhood; to instruct her in carnal pleasure. But when the brash earl of Selby, Banning Talbot, a man she has known for years, unearths Avis' true intentions, he claims she's made a dangerously bad choice. Volunteering his services for one wicked night of reckless, abandoned passion, Banning promises he will satisfy all of her deepest longings. Yet Banning cannot begin to imagine the effect his willful, voluptuous, and very eager student will have on him - or how far an innocent lesson in desire can go...

I love a good spinster story especially about one wanting to discover passion and good lovemaking.

Okay it begins with Avis, twenty-six year old unmarried virgin, discovering a saucy book in her father things after his death. After reading said book she begins to dream/fantasize about a tall dark handsome fulfilling and satisfying her hunger and desire. Well she finally makes up her mind to sleep with a writer friend of hers, Mr. Emory Billingsworth to get rid of her dreams and to see what the hubbub is about.

Enters the hottie Earl of Shelby, Banning Talbot, after finding out Avis's plan, he decides to intervene. Claiming She has a made a bad choice and offering his services. After one hot kiss that leaves her wanting more Avis agrees.

And after that the good fun of this book begins. I love Banning not only is he hot and knows it. He doesn't mind letting you know he knows. So some may call him conceited but I love the author's discription he's just a beast and arrogantly so.

Scarred (Damaged Souls #1) by Twyla Turner

Alexis"Lexi" Bolden has seen her fair share of tragedy and experienced enough abuse to last a lifetime. Witnessing the double murder-suicide of her parents and dealing with a string of abusive losers, Lexi often found comfort in the brutal ritual of 'cutting'. And now, narrowly escaping with her life after the last episode of abuse, Lexi finally finds the courage to press charges and start a new life.
Meanwhile, Sloan Stryker, a war veteran suffering from the physical and internal scars of war and bouts of PTSD, has found himself estranged from his disapproving parents, no job and homeless.
Through a chance meeting and dramatic rescue, an unusual friendship develops between these two wounded people. Can they work past their damaged souls to finally come together? Find out in Twyla Turner's new erotic romance, Scarred...accompanied by a sensual auditory journey.

Let me start by saying that I feel in love with Twyla Turner 's work when I read her book Star Struck. And I have been looking for more of her work that either reminds me of the book I read or just reminds me of the feelings I felt while reading it. And this book is it. The rawness of this book just gets to you. It's powerfully subtle in the way it grabs you and throws within the story. Such a good read.

I hope you enjoy it, too.

Saving a Legend (Kavanagh Legends #2)

His family’s gym has produced a roster of mixed martial arts legends, but so far Kieran Kavanagh hasn’t followed in their footsteps. After a brawl lands him in jail, Kieran is assigned to work at a center for at-risk youth. Though given a second chance, Kieran’s simply going through the motions—until he meets one very special kid, Shea Doherty, and falls hard for her very beautiful, very grown-up big sister, Fiona. The trouble is, Kieran’s best opening moves are getting him nowhere fast.
Fiona Doherty has too many responsibilities to fool around, especially now that she has custody of Shea. Sure, she’d love to find a devoted partner. But she won’t jeopardize her sister’s happiness—or risk revealing her tortured past—on a love-’em-and-leave-’em type of guy like Kieran . . . so it’s up to him to prove her wrong. As Fiona spends more time with Kieran, she starts to see a softer side of the reckless warrior. Now she must admit that when it comes to the possibility of real love, well . . . there’s a fighting chance.

I'm not a fan of this one. The story was good, I did like the added dynamic but the main characters just wasn't rubbing me the right way(& I wish it would have) . And the reasons were one, the heroine just kept saying she wasn't good enough for the hero and she need to focus on her life. I get & comprehend that the first 20x she said it but after a while reading it over and over again gets really annoying. Second, all the miscommunications were grating on my last nerve because there was just too many opportunity to get the truth out. And lastly, I think this particular character's book should have came out at a later date in the series. Maybe when we could get a bit more of a back story. Maybe have him get out of jail in one book and allow some of the tension to grow then proceed with his book afterwards. But even though I wasn't in love with this story like I was with the first. I am glad I read it plus it was an okay read once you got over some things.

Looking forward to the next book in the series.
 Hope you enjoy it!

Marrying Her Rich Asian Widower: A BWAM Marriage Romance For Adults by Mary Peart

David is a recent widower, who was in an arranged marriage with a woman he didn't love.
But respect is big in his culture.
So when he visits a florist to collect some flowers for his wife's grave, he's surprised to find the shop owner and himself seem to hit it off.
He reluctantly agrees to meet this woman Janice again, but feels guilty about having feelings for someone else when he wasn't a great husband to his first wife.
Janice, however, is smitten, and knows that David is the man she wants to be with.
Will she be able to convince him she's the one he could spend his life with?
Or will his guilt be too much for both of them to bear?

Such a great feel good and heartfelt read. Loved the characters and the bit of drama. Loved that the heroine was strong and knew exactly what she wanted and how she felt.

So glad I read it.
Hope you enjoy.

The Queen's Dance (The Emerging Queens #3) by Jamie K. Schmidt

Another winner for me.
I absolutely love the story. It's full of action and intrigue. Such a great addition to the series.

Despite his handicaps outside his natural habitat, water dragon Remy “Champ” Champlain fights to protect Queen Margery from those who plot to quash her damaging news reports by silencing her...forever.
He can never have her, but he'll protect her with his life.
After newly shifted sky dragon Queen Margery is rescued from smugglers by water dragon Remy Champlain, she debates whether to flesh out the story that nearly got her killed or embrace her royalty and build a court of protectors and studs. Sparks fly between Remy and her. He’d love her to give up her job and settle down…hopefully with him…but he can’t fly and she can’t swim, so their relationship can never get off the ground.

I'm so excited to see what happens next.

Rushing the Goal (Assassins #8) by Toni Aleo

An ARC from netgalley for an honest review.

I know I'm a little late with this review since life got away from me a bit. But I just wanted to say this story was amazingly amazing!!! It's funny as hell, very emotional, angsty at times and I loved every second of it.
Lucy Sinclair was no stranger to pain.
She grew up with three younger brothers, met a bad boy, got pregnant by him, married him, and then suffered through a nasty divorce from him. Pain. That was pain. To top it off, she even had to go through the heartbreaking divorce of her parents. Through it all, she survived. All she cared about was making sure her daughter was happy and taken care of. Despite an ex-husband hell-bent on ruining her life, she fought to overcome. She’s gotten to the point that she’s okay with being just okay. She never cared about herself because she never had the time. It was Angie and only Angie she focused on, but that all changed when Benji Paxton offered to help her daughter on the ice.
Benji knew the moment he saw Lucy, he’d never be the same. Especially when she came with the bundle of crazy that was her daughter. His heart wasn’t ready for them. After years spent sobering up and finding who he was without the alcohol, he never forgot he was being punished for not appreciating the love he had when he was younger. Because of his past, he had gotten used to being alone, a recluse, but even he had to admit it was getting old. He was lonely. Hockey wasn’t enough anymore. He wanted a family; he wanted his true love.
And Lucy and Angie were just that.
They were just two lost souls.
Floating through life with no purpose.
But finding each other gave them direction, a chance at a future.
And had them both Rushing the Goal to be together.

I want to say Thank you to the author and netgalley for the opportunity to read this wonderful book.

Hope you enjoy.

And as always Happy Reading!!!:)

Blogger's Note

Hi there cyber friends,

I'm sorry I've been MIA lately. I haven't really been reading these past weeks. It seemed nothing kept my interest long enough. So I decided to take a little break and just do something else besides read. But after reading a couple of old favorites last week, I felt I finally could get back into the groove of things. Now this week, I felt like I was feeling up to writing some book reviews, I'm slowly getting my groove back ;). So you'll be getting a whole lot of reviews today. Maybe three. We'll see.

Thanks for sticking around.

Sweet Revenge by Lynsay Sands

Two covers, same story.

Highlander Galen MacDonald is on a mission of revenge: kidnap his enemy's bride and make her his. But what he doesn't count on is a clever, fiery lass wielding a blade. When he realizes Kyla is delirious with fever, Galen wastes no time in wedding her.
While Kyla is grateful for the Scottish laird who saved her from marrying a loathsome man, she is just as furious that Galen has claimed her for his bride. But when they share an unforgettable night of passion, will it lead to a marriage of the heart, or will an enemy tear them apart?

I wasn't a huge fan of this book. The writing wasn't bad but the heroine seemed to put herself in a lot of danger. Danger that could of have been avoided if she would stay put. But even with that aspect of her personality, she wasn't a bad heroine. She always got herself out of  the trouble she put herself in. The hero was a bit lacking but was also your run of the mill historical romance highlander.  So overall not a bad book. Characters have a bit of flaws and the story had some entertaining moments.

Hope you enjoy.

Female Book Crush Wednesday!!!

My female crush this Wednesday is a book I've read a hundred times since discovering in 2012. It one of my favorite books that I love to read especially if nothing can hold my interest.

The Bride By Julie Garwood.

Two covers One great adventure!

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice was Jamie, youngest daughter of Baron Jamison...a feisty, violet-eyed beauty. Alec ached to touch her, to tame her, to possess her...forever. But Jamie vowed never to surrender to this highland barbarian.
He was everything her heart warned against—an arrogant scoundrel whose rough good looks spoke of savage pleasures. And thought Kincaid's scorching kisses fired her blood, she brazenly resisted him...until one rapturous moment quelled their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire threatened to conquer her senses.

It is such a light-hearted and funny read. I caught myself laughing out loud several times til this day. Julie Garwood created a world filled with amazing characters and such a great plot that it has lasted through the years as a contender on everyone's to reread book list and a great historical romance novel masterpiece. I always feel great reading this and it always feels like the first time. If you have not read this you need to get on it asap.

I really hope you fall in love with it as I have.

On the Edge (On The Edge #1) by Kallysten

Brett Andrews thought he had it all.
His new club, On The Edge, catering to vampires and humans, is a smashing success, and the beautiful vampire Lisa is everything he could have dreamed of.
When an old lover of hers, Leo, shows up at the club, Brett’s immediate fear is that he will lose Lisa. But if he just stops thinking long enough to follow Lisa’s lead, he might gain a lover instead of losing one.

I really like this story. It was very enjoyable the whole series as a whole is great and book 2 is one of my favorite parts of the series but I digress. Anyway I read the series in order I know a shocker but I did and I am glad that i did, This one was a great way to introduce a new dynamic into an already settle situation. A very enjoyable read and a great series.

Hope you enjoy.

Blair and the Emoboy (The Emoboy #1) by Pepper Pace

Pepper Pace's erotically charged short story explores what happens when the tough as nails, outspoken Blair finally pushes her shy best friend, Daniel, one step too far.

I'm a huge fan of Pepper Pace but this was a miss for me. At the beginning the story was okay but towards the end it went left, to place I just wasn't really comfortable with. I guess a lot of people enjoyed it because it won an award but it was definitely a loser in my book.

Whether its a hit or a miss for you
I hope you enjoy.

Indentured Bride by Yamila Abraham

Cruel alien masters have oppressed Tabitha for the last ten years. An Alliance observer discovers that she’s been experimented on and pulls her from the slave colony. She’s going to be granted the privilege of becoming an indentured bride.
Tabitha doesn’t see her new assignment as a privilege. Her duties seem pretty clear cut, and she knows what Hax-Rah aliens are like. The last thing she wants is to be stranded on a moon with one.
Hex-Lord Jaxil took an isolated mission for a reason, and he never asked for a bride.

This wasn't a good read for me. I just felt the heroine was so excited to leave a bad situation without  taking into full account that she might be entering into another one.  The story line has potential but I wish the heroine was more realistic but I did like the hero and robot in this story, they made the story  a bit readable. In summary interesting concept, good hero, an okay heroine, and a good robot.

Well I hope you enjoy this one.

Dragon Marked (Supernatural Prison #1) by Jaymin Eve

There are supernatural prisons hidden across the globe. Contained within these fortresses are some of the deadliest criminals from the five supernatural races: vampire, shifter, fey, magic users and demi-fey.
Jessa Lebron, twenty-two, has spent her entire life in Stratford, Connecticut, one of the gateway towns adjoining these prisons which protect the fortified borders. She’s a wolf shifter, and her father leads the town council. She learns that much of her life has been hidden from her, secrets which threaten to tear apart the very fabric of her world. Especially the biggest secret of them all.
She is dragon marked.
Jessa only knows what she’s been told about the dragon marked, that they are dangerous and must be eliminated to prevent the rise of the dragon king, the powerful warmonger who had his head removed a thousand years ago. So now Jessa's on the biggest hit list of all. Dragon mark hunters are lethal and her only hope to evade detection is to keep the energy contained.
As more secrets unfold she finds herself locked up in Vanguard, the notorious American supernatural prison. Thankfully she’s not alone. Braxton, the dragon-shifter has her back. Together they must survive long enough to free themselves and the other dragon marked.
Because it’s time for the dragon marked to rise.

It took me awhile to get through this one but I finally succeeded and I can whole hardheartedly say it was an enjoyable read. Which came as a shock because the reading process was a long one. But I think that was on me, I would lose interest so quickly that I would give up and move to the next book. It must because everything seemed to be going in such a snail pace. Other than that it was a good read. I don't know if I will continue with the series even though it ended on an interesting note. We'll just have to see.

Hope you enjoy!!

My Second One is.....

Never Love A Highlander by Maya Banks

Such amazing read!! One of my favorites. I really love Caelen and his gruffy, direct, and loyal spirit. I absolutely love Rionna!! She's true to herself and her stubborn, "go against the grain", loyal, and protective spirit was the perfect match for Caelen. *sighs*
"I allowed my heart to discount evidence that my mind knew was sound. I’ll never second-guess what stares me in the face again."

The story:
Caelen McCabe just married his brother's jilted bride. Having at one time given his heart to the woman who nearly destroyed his clan and got his father killed, he vows never to allow any woman near his heart again. only the loyalty he feels for his clan and family made him marry the woman before him.

“Better, wife. But not good enough.” Deciding she’d had enough of that smug superiority, she ducked low and launched herself at him. She lined up her shoulder and hit him right below the waist. He let out a string of curses that blistered her ears. Then he slipped to his knees, his hand cupping his cods. His sword fell from his other hand and landed in the snow. Rionna stumbled back, retrieved her sword, and then put the tip to his neck. “Do you yield?” “Hell yes, I yield or you’ll likely slice off what’s left of my cods.”

Rionna Mcdonald is a fierce female warrior, who is nothing but a pawn in her father's conquest for power. She promises to do her duty but protect her heart and clan. She'll soon learn that the guards she had up were easy to melt by the warrior she now calls her husband.

“ ’Tis the sweetest meal I’ve ever eaten,” he said in a husky voice. “Offered from the hand of a naked goddess while she sits astride me. ’Tis heaven I’ve gone to.”

The growth between the characters and with themselves is what made this story so good to read. The battle part of the story was crafted amazingly from the moment before the conflict started to the end of it. It was good!!

"She’s spoken before of a time when part of my heart was withheld from her because it belonged to another, but from the moment I laid eyes on her, I belonged solely to her. Ah, lass, I think I have always loved you, for ’tis the truth I cannot ever remember a time I didnt"

Female Book Crush Wednesday is.....

Her Secondhand Groom by Rose Gordon

Widower Lord Patrick Ramsey, Viscount Drakely, fell in love and married at eighteen only to be devastated by losing her as she bore his third daughter. Now, as his girls are getting older he realizes they need a mother—and a governess.
Not able to decide between the two which they need more, he marries an ordinary young lady from the local village in hopes she can suit both roles. But this ordinary young lady isn’t so ordinary after all, and he’ll either have to take a chance and risk his heart once more or wind up alone forever.

Amazing and so good!! Juliet is one of my favorite heroines. So strong willed, stubborn, and can cut you down quick with her words. So glad I read this. And the hero was a true Alpha and an ass sometimes. Loved him though. And the pair of them together amazing. The arguments that would erupt were so delicious with sexual tension, it was just good foreplay. Haha!!;)
Great book, amazing characters, and a lovely HEA.

Lone wolves are loners for a reason—and most of them bad. Or so Ryan assumes until he meets the mysterious Makenna. Quirky and sensual, she seems to enjoy riling him, especially when she refuses to discuss her past. Although there is no mating bond, he’s sure she’s the one. All he has to do is be patient and wait. But when another pack’s sinister Alpha comes sniffing around, threatening Makenna and her shelter, this enforcer is ready to let his wolf off the leash…

In honor of one of my favorite series!!!

So here's the thing one of my favorite series is having a new book added onto the roster today and I thought I would honor the series as a whole by giving you my favorite quotes from each book excluded the new one of course since I haven't sunk my teeth into it yet.

Book One: Feral Sins

“Grace’s gaze skimmed over her, taking in the various marks of possession that decorated her flesh.  “Well, short of having ‘Property of Trey Coleman’ tattooed on your forehead, he couldn’t have made it any clearer that he considered you his, could he?”
                                                 ― Suzanne Wright, Feral Sins

Book Two: Wicked Cravings

“Giving him a slight wave, she turned and strolled away.
"Jaime?" he called after her. "Jaime, don't ignore me!"
Without breaking stride, she glanced at him over her shoulder.
"It's not that I'm ignoring you. I've just lost interest in the conversation.”
                                                 ― Suzanne Wright, Wicked Cravings

Book Three: Carnal Secret

“You’re my mate. I’m naturally going to want to know everything about you.”
He shrugged; it was simple. “That includes your address, where you work, and your cell number—just thought you should know so you won’t be surprised if a text message from me arrives.”
She gaped, both offended and shocked. “You can’t just pry into people’s lives like that and find out all their personal details. And how did you find them out anyway?”
He shrugged again. “I have contacts in the right places.”
“So, what, you’re a stalker now?”
“I prefer the term ‘intense investigator.”
                                        ― Suzanne Wright, Carnal Secrets

Book Four: Dark Instincts

“Why do you hate me?” griped Marcus.
Roni barely resisted the urge to whack her mate over the head. “I just want a little taste.”
“So get your own.”
“You took the last slice.”
“There are other cakes.”
“But I don’t like them. I like chocolate cake.” When he just stared at her wearing a sulky expression, she sighed. “Let me put this another way. Do you enjoy sex?”
“Yes.”
“Then you’ll share with me, and you’ll like it.”
                                                     ― Suzanne Wright, Dark Instincts

My "Book Crush Monday!!!"(BCM) Is.......Z Michaels from Shredded (Extreme Risk #1) by Tracy Wolff

An ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

And I have to say this book was amazing. Had it for awhile and finally decided to read it. And this book did not disappoint. Even with the cliffhanger at the end. That was an honest to God way to end a book and segway into the second book.

The story:
Z Michaels professional snowboarder, has been through the ringer and back. And the only way for him to take the edge off is by indulging with the girls that throw themself whether he's home in Park City or on circuit. Z never lacks for ways to make the darkness of his past disappear but when those ways no longer are enough, things slowly starts getting out hand.
Enters Ophelia Richardson, definitely not like the girls he's been. Still struggling with the lost of her boyfriend and the accident that almost killed her. She doesn't need another guy in her whose is trying hard to kill himself. Or whose as damaged as she was maybe more so.
With things at impasse and Z death wish spinning out of control it seems things spiraling out of control way before it can truly. With fate at the wheel it seems their destiny is either survive and trust together or struggle and suffer.

Book was really good and emotional. Really well written and executed perfectly

Hope you like it, too!

Blogger's Note(BN): I read this a couple of hundred time since I received it in 2014. Its one of my favorite books and series. Its why I decided to start my BCMs with this lovely story.

La Vie en Rose {Life in Pink} by Lydia Michaels

An ARC from netgalley for an honest review.

With my busy schedule it took me longer to read this than usual. Plus I wanted to give it the time it deserved and I'm glad I did. One thing I had to do was take myself out of what I wanted this book to be  ( Another Breaking Perfect
).

But I realized this was gonna be a different type of book. Filled with hope, love, and a person's willingness to fight with everything they have. The emotions this story brought out from funny to crazy, to sad and courageous.

Description from back of book, Story:
Emma Sanders has always dreamt of being a bride, wearing fancy gowns, pretty pearls, and—of course—falling madly in love. Then life happened. Finding herself one fiancé short of her happily ever after, she leaves the fairytales behind. Some days are simply too perilous for pink gowns and pearls.
Riley Lockhart is the sort of man who can make a woman lower her gaze with only a smile. That he doesn’t realize his charm makes him all the more enchanting. Determined to save Emma the pain of her breakup, he steps in as a friend, but soon finds himself wanting more.
was just a girl, but she somehow winds up being the strongest woman he’s ever known. Losing her is not an option and when life can’t be tied neatly in a pretty little bow, he holds tight to all that he loves—his Emma. His hero.
Sometimes the greatest scars are worn on the inside.

It was such a beautifully told story.
Hope you enjoy.

Wolfen Bonds (The Taghte Pack #1) by Dakota Trace

The Council of Elders has charged Matthias Galloway with bringing the once prosperous Taghte Pack back into the Council's fold. In exchange for his services, Matthias names his terms: he wants to claim his longtime lover and friend, Andrew, as his mate.
Nephew of a powerful alpha, Andrew Gilchrist has long been a coveted commodity because of his services as a healer. Neither expects the Council to agree to Matthias’s terms, leaving him free, finally, to claim his chosen mate. Even more unexpected is the presence of a third-bond to appear during their mating ritual.
The grandchildren of the slain alpha of the Taghte pack, Colleen Donghall and her twin brother, were whisked away at birth. They're still kept hidden from those who would harm them. Raised in seclusion, Colleen's never experienced lust, let alone the bond between mates. On the night of lunar eclipse, she's drawn into Matthias and Andrew's passionate claiming, and her dormant libido is powerfully awoken.
But it’s nothing compared to the lust and danger that will stalk her and her mates, when she arrives in Scotland.

I have been dying to read this book for so long and I finally got the chance to. And I can truly say it wasn't a disappointment, It was filled with everything from romance to suspense, I will honestly  say its not a faorite but its a book that I would revisit when I am bored. Also can't wait for her to put the second one out the series seem to be going someplace that I would like t see where and also there's a little mystery about one character I hope to see solve.

But over all a good read not disappointed at all.
Kind of excited to see where it goes.

Hope you enjoy!!

The Sarran Senator (The Sarrans #4) by A.C. Katt

The Sarrans return home from Earth in triumph, having gained many new Earthen fems, coffee, chocolate, and cats.
Senator Samuel Johnson joins his grandson Michael, his daughter Sara, and her WarriorPair on Sarran. To his delighted surprise, he bonds irrevocably with Tarin, one of Sarran's top engineers. Tarin had been bonded before and thought he would never experience a bond again, yet Sam's love gives him a new lease on life. Now they only hope the Goddess has a fem for them.
Then the Sarran Elders host a mixer for Sarran warriors to meet the Earthen fems. Margaret Mary O'Neil, Meg to her friends, is a talented woman who fled to Sarran like so many Earth women looking for a new life. When she meets Sam and Tarin, her life changes forever.
But while things are looking up for the Sarrans, with new babies being born and WarriorPairs settling down, their enemy the Zyptz are relentless in their efforts to wipe them out. When the Zyptz attack both Sarran and Earth, the mutual dependence between the two becomes ever more evident.

In my typical fashion, I read this story out of turn because it interested me. I might go back to the others in this series to see how everything got started but I really like this book. The characters were definitely different from what I am used to in sci fi romances but similar in a sense. Good amount of action and romance. I really like the heroes and the heroine in this particular book and we'll see how feel about the others.

Hope you enjoy!!

Speechless by Christin Lovell

Allie never expected to find love. Being a quiet, plus size woman with a kind heart and a passion for history never got her far in the big city… until she met Drak.
Drak is a vampire nearly a millennia old. In all his time on earth, he had never met another woman like Allie. He was enamored with the lush beauty from first glance.
With similar interests, and in spite of their remaining stark differences, their love has grown and deepened beyond what either thought they were capable of… until now.

Another book I got during my luck this past weekend. Not as good as her other stories but enjoyable none the less.  Wish this was a full story might have liked it better if it was. There was something a bit lacking in this probably just the lack of a full back story.Maybe this would have benefitted if it was turn to a 100 to 200 pages story instead of the 30 pages it really is,

Anyway I hope you enjoy this more than I did.

Her First by Christin Lovell

Extra curvy Norah doesn’t identify as anything other than straight, but she can’t seem to shake her mounting attraction for a woman who is the total opposite of her in every way.
Sissy is sassy, outspoken and persistent. She knows what she wants, and she wants Norah. There is something about the plus size beauty that she just can’t shake, and it has her willing to do something she’s never done: wait.
Then, one night, fate steps in.
But one night is just one night, and both women will have to decide if one night is enough.

Christin Lovell is one of those authors whose books I have to devour right there and then or become obsess with wanting to read it because you know you can't afford to buy even more books. But the reading gods have looked down upon me and bless me with All Romance E-books' Earth Day rebate sale. Which I was able to purchase this and other stories for the listed price but got half of my money back to use on a future purchases. Yay!!! hahahaha!!!

This story was definitely worth the wait it was a good read. Even though its a short I felt the conclusion in this book, which I absolutely loved.  *sighs*

Hope you enjoy!!

Total Eclipse of the Heart (In the Heat of the Night #1) by Crystal Jordan

What’s a werewolf to do when she finds her soulmate twice? It’s a total eclipse of the heart.
It was only a few years ago that humans found out magical creatures existed. Now, they’re all out of the closet and leading their lives freely when they once used to hide their true identity. Werewolves, vampires, fairies and everything else that goes bump in the night.
When Lena walks into the Eclipse bar, she turns Rachel’s world inside out. She’s a werewolf who scents her mate, and nothing will stop her from claiming what’s hers.
Rachel has always assumed that when she mated with Jerrod she’d never know another lover, despite her longing for both men and women. No werewolf would be unfaithful. Ever. She’s heard of werewolves having two mates in one lifetime, but after the first one died, not at the same time. She’s terrified of how the man she loves will react when he finds out the instincts that drew her to him five years ago now pull her to another woman.

I enjoyed this short read. A little confusing at first but once you understand the flow and where the story is heading, it becomes clear. Like most short stories I wish this one was just a bit longer. There was somethings that could have been better in angst if it was.

Hope you enjoy it, too.

Isle of Lies (Scottish Duo #1) by Donna Fletcher

             Two covers, Same story.

Moira Maclean is summoned by Mother Abbess in the dead of night. Frightened and worried and with no time to dress, she rushes in her night dress and bare feet to discover disturbing news. Her father and brothers have been killed by a rival clan and it is her father’s dying wish that she wed the Highlander warrior he sent to keep her safe.
The stranger appears to have come directly from the battlefield and Moira has little choice but to obey her father’s dying wish. A hasty ceremony and equally hasty consummation, and it’s over, though Moira soon finds that… it has only just begun.
Her father arrives and she learns that the warrior she wed, Ian of the clan Cameron, is her father’s mortal enemy. A bargain is struck between the two men and she is once again left at the convent to live out her days.
But danger lurks in the shadows and Moira carries a secret she’s been warned not to share and with her life in peril Ian returns to take his wife home. It doesn’t take long for Ian to realize that Moira has the power to heal his broken heart and that he has the power to wake her dormant passion and love has the power to bring the unlikely pair together.

Such a good story with amazing characters. I really liked the heroine who is extremely intelligent and witty.  This book is filled with adventure, romance, witty charm, and suspense.

Hope you enjoy!!

Hyden's Law (Bound by Ink) by Hurri Cosmo

Graham's had it with Alphas. His experiences with them have been disastrous at best. Even with ones that didn't tumble him into the nearest bed. So when the chance to move in with another Omega comes up, Graham grabs it. But Graham's never seen an Omega so big. Plus, he seems to be able to push buttons only an Alpha has. Except trust is something that comes easily to Graham. Hyden says nothing about being an Alpha – so he must not be. Right?
Hyden has just met his fated mate - in the middle of a territorial war. Not the best timing. But now that Graham's here, Hyden can hardly let the little pup escape, which is what he will do if he finds out Hyden is not only an Alpha but the Alpha. With the Mating Moon scant days away how will Hyden convince the smaller Graham that not all Alphas are selfish bastards? And he's going to have to because blood fever will not be ignored and Hyden can already feel it taking over his senses. Once it does, there will be no turning back. Hyden might have to resort to handcuffing the pup in order to make sure he doesn't bolt off into the night. Hmmm. Not a bad thought. He might have to do that anyway.

Not a bad book at all. It kept me interested and there were some good parts to it. But I'm not really a fan of it, there was something lacking about it. The story fell a little flat for me but other than that it was an okay short read.

Hope you enjoy it!

The Boy Who Came Back a Wolf (Space Wolf Chronicles #1) by Kara Lockharte

He wasn't what she wanted.
He wasn't right for her.
She was wrong--so wrong.
When Lauryn Daring rejected skinny Xavier Stone's advances in high school to build an empire in the big city, she had no idea the mistake she was making. But after years apart, the man that walks back into her life is far from the geek she once knew. Xavier changed--in all the right ways. After being stationed on a dangerous planet of werewolves for nearly ten years, the tall, rugged, ferocious, and undeniably sexy soldier is back for what he's wanted all along: Lauryn.
And this time, Lauryn won’t be able to resist.

This was a cute little short story. I wish it was longer of course because it does leave you with a not so pleasant cliff hanger. And the second book in the series starts off with a new set of characters but I think I'll read the second one just in case. It more introductory then actual story.

Hope you enjoy.
